The Dev/Mission Fellowship is back for 2022 with a 12-week summer program for Pre-Apprenticeship Bootcamp graduates! The fellowship builds upon your bootcamp experience with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript programming to teach full-stack web development with mentorship from volunteer Uber engineers. With these new skills, you’ll work in small teams to build a web app using user-centered design and research practices with mentorship from members of the Code for San Francisco brigade. You can propose your own civic technology project that addresses a local community need or choose from one of the project ideas that we will present to you as options.
You will be eligible to receive up to a $1000 stipend based on attendance and deliverables, paid in two installments after the first half and at the end of the program. You’ll also be offered a trade-in upgrade to a MacBook Pro laptop to use for the work.
Meetings will be Zoom video calls, with the schedule currently planned as:
Mondays, 6pm – 7:30pm
Engineering with Uber
Wednesdays, 6:30pm – 9:30pm
User Centered Design and Research with Code for SF
Thursdays, 6pm – 7:30pm
Engineering with Uber
We are also tentatively planning an optional in-person drop-in open lab at Valencia Gardens, depending upon interest. The program will start on Monday, June 6, 2022 and end with a final presentation event on Friday, August 26, 2022.
Please join us on Monday, May 16, 2022 at 6:00pm for a Zoom meeting (https://us02web.zoom.us/j/86024606095?pwd=MzdUNW9rLzhMMzd6bmpqK3dqdVFrdz09) where we’ll present more about the Fellowship and have a Q&A session. Or, reach out on Slack or by email (francisli@devmission.org) with any questions you might have.
